Minnesota Twins Home Opener - April 4th
What better way to celebrate spring than with a ticket to the Twins Home Opener on April 4th against the Cleveland Guardians. The home opener starts at 3:10 p.m., but you’ll want to get there early to score a Twins Beanie. The first 10,000 fans will receive the beanie.
43rd Annual Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival - April 11th - 25th
The 43rd Annual Film Festival features more than 200 feature-length and short narrative and documentary films, all filmed during the last year. Filmmakers from all around the world participate in the festival, which includes awards for fiction shorts, documentary shorts, documentary features, emerging filmmaker, Minnesota-made fiction and documentaries and other categories. Films are shown at the St. Anthony Main Theatre in downtown Minneapolis and in several other local theaters.
Saint Paul Art Crawl - April 12th - 14th
Art galleries and studios throughout the Saint Paul area open their doors to the public every year during the Art Crawl. Although the majority of the artists are located in Lowertown, the event has expanded to encompass other Saint Paul neighborhoods in recent years.
Artists participating in the crawl work in a variety of mediums, including oil, watercolors, acrylics, stained glass, ceramics, photography, leather, alcohol inks and stained glass. One artist even turns recycled books into art. Whether you want to add a few pieces to your art collection, or just enjoy browsing, you may want to add a day at the Saint Paul Art Crawl to your spring schedule.
Minnesota Craft Beer Festival - April 13th
More than 110 breweries will be on hand during this year’s Minnesota Craft Beer Festival held in the Minneapolis Convention Center. You won’t find boring, run-of-the-mill beer at this festival. In fact, breweries have been asked to bring taproom-only beer and/or rare, limited release options. Festival proceeds will be donated to the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s House That Beer Built. Tickets have sold out quickly in past years. If you don’t want to be disappointed, you may want to buy your ticket soon.
Art in Bloom - April 25rd - 28th
During Art in Bloom, floral artists create their own interpretations of the Minneapolis Art Institute’s art collection with fresh floral arrangements. In addition to creations from floral artists, the festival also includes commercial displays, workshops, lectures, demonstrations, children’s crafts, tours and a fashion show. Admission is free, but some events require paid admission.
Doors Open Minneapolis - May 18th -19th
Have you ever wondered what’s behind the closed doors of the buildings you drive or walk by on the way to work every day? During Doors Open Minneapolis on May 18th and 19th, you’ll finally be able to indulge your curiosity. Last year’s event included 115 venues that were architecturally, culturally or socially significant, including the Hotel Ivy, Basilica of St. Mary, First Avenue, Witch’s Hat Tower and the Foshay Tower. Check the Doors Open website often for the list of this year’s participants.
